Welcome to the WK9 Fantasy Football Linebacker Rankings NFC IDP Start/Sit Cheat Sheet Charts presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. A formula with a well-tested history for over a decade and a proven high-hit rate in IDP play well before sharing it with the public four years ago. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.

Week 9 / NFC Inside Linebackers

NFC North

Bears Inside Linebackers

Roquan Smith
3.5/5
Danny Trevathan
2.5/5
Joel Iyiegbuniwe
0.5/5
Josh Woods
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Stable and as marked versus the Titans.

Lions Inside Linebackers

Jamie Collins
4/5
Reggie Ragland
2.5/5
Christian Jones
2/5
Jahiani Tavai
2/5
Jarrad Davis (O)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Stable with the normal, and with Davis out, Ragland may actually be in play versus the Vikes run-heavy game. But there is a reason he only gets “barely” just solid. And that is the risk that the Lions mix and match in some other way as they hate fantasy football owners. 🙂

Packers Inside Linebackers

Christian Kirksey (IR/?)
0/5
Krys Barnes (?)
0/5
Kamal Martin (?)
0/5
Ty Summers
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: See Thursday Edition Chart.

Vikings Inside Linebackers

Eric Kendricks
4/5
Eric Wilson
2.5/5
Troy Dye
1.5/5
Todd Davis
1/5
Hardy Nickerson
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Lions. And as an interesting note for dynasty owners, they worked in the rookie Dye after the bye week. Something to keep in mind for 2021 because the Vikes have a lot of caps wrapped up in defensive players and they are starting to get a little long in the teeth (older). Anthoney Barr is an example, and he also has an “out” in his contract in the coming off-season.

Our members shouldn’t be surprised to see an IDP Dime Drop from me in the offseason on Dye. They got a great player later on in the draft this year in Dye. And if he had been drafted elsewhere he could have likely already been starting and maybe making an impact in IDP.

NFC south

Falcons Inside Linebackers

Foyesade Oluokun
3/5
Deion Jones
3/5
Mykal Walker
1.5/5
LaRoy Reynolds
0.9/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Broncos. And a reminder to Oluokun owners because this writer has had a few members contact him over his poorish performance in the stat box last contest. First, he still played 100% of the snaps that contest. Second, it happens, players can hardly ever keep up the pace that Oluokun has had. And he is playing next to a pretty darn good LB in Deion Jones. So it was just a matter of time that Jones was the team leader in IDP production.

With that said, Oluokun could have another poor outing for the box score this week and we should still keep in mind what we just said. He is still a viable player at ILB right now and there isn’t any reason for concern until further notice. And of course, everyone plays different formats. Some start-up to four ILBs and some only one. So keep that in mind because that certainly changes his rest of the season value depending on what the league format is.

Panthers Inside Linebackers

Jeremy Chinn – S/LB (?)
3.5/5
Shaq Thompson
3/5
Tahir Whitehead
2/5
Sam Franklin S/LB
2.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: First, as marked if everyone plays. Second, Chinn (knee) didn’t practice on Wednesday and should be monitored. Third, if he is out, the marks really don’t trickle down as high as Chinn’s is this contest because he brings that much upside on his own.

Lastly, as we mentioned just like Chinn is a “safety” in a lot of sites, he is actually playing a linebacker position for the Panthers. And just like we mentioned in the notes last week, Franklin is a “linebacker” who is now playing safety while SS Justin Burris (ribs) is on I.R. and is expected back when he is healthy. The main thing to know about him and his mark is that it is “barely” just solid.

Saints Inside Linebackers

Demario Davis
2.5/5
Alex Anzalone
1/5
Kiko Alonso (?)
1/5
Zack Baun
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: First, either by the game flow or at the hands of the fantasy gods, Davis flopped last contest versus the Panthers. And we aren’t holding that against him since it’s been the only real-time on paper he has. But what we are marking up is the fact that the Bears are nearly dead last in allowing production to the ILBs. So it’s purely his upside as the 100% snap earner that got him barely to “just” solid. Owners may want to look for a better option at this point, just to make sure.

As we mentioned last week, Kiko has been designated to return. And it’s just a matter of when they’ll activate him completely. He is practicing, and one has to assume he’ll slot right in next to Davis when it happens. Which would likely send Anzalone to a part-time role, even more than what he has been.

Buccaneers Inside Linebackers

Lavonte David
4/5
Devin White
4/5
Kevin Minter
0.5/5
Jack Cichy (IR)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked and it’s just a matter of which ILB has the better game versus the Saints.

NFC East

Cowboys Inside Linebackers

Jaylon Smith
4/5
Leighton Vander Esch
4/5
Joe Thomas
2/5
Sean Lee
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Steelers on paper via the five-step formula.

Giants Inside Linebackers

Blake Martinez (?)
5/5
Devante Downs (?)
2/5
David Mayo
2/5
Tae Crowder (IR)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus Washington on paper. Martinez (hammy) and Downs (undisclosed) were limited via the latest reports. And as normal, with Crowder (hammy) on I.R., Martinez is our only target if he plays. Downs fell again in snap counts last contest and they didn’t seem to give Mayo anymore than he had gotten. The only scenario either could come into play this week is if Martinez is out. And our guess would be that Mayos would actually replace Martinez as the main guy.

For those owners looking ahead, Crowder could return as soon as week 10, our week 12 after the Giants week 11 bye week. He was or seemed like the total package the Giants needed next to Martinez. And after having a full-time role when he did start and outplaying everyone but Martinez, he could be an interesting stash soon. Just keep in mind, if they ease him in his real value may not hit until right before the fantasy football playoffs.

Eagles Inside Linebackers

T.J. Edwards
0/5
Alex Singleton
0/5
Duke Riley
0/5
Davion Taylor
0/5
Nathan Gerry (IR)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Bye Week. And we suggest if you have any interest in this situation to check out the waiver wire bye week article for week 9.

Washington’s Inside Linebackers

Jon Bostic
2.5/5
Kevin Pierre-Louis (?)
2.5/5
Cole Holcomb
2.5/5
Shaun Dion Hamilton
1/5
Thomas Davis
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Coming out of their bye week, we are leaving the following note as to why they are marked the way they are versus the Giants. And noting that the Giants actually offer a strong matchup on paper. But the note explains why it’s a risky situation.

WK8 Note: “And just an update, it does appear that Holcomb’s return had an effect across the board last contest. Bostic fell to 70% of the snaps. Pierre-Louis went to 68%, and Holcomb went up to 70%. So we basically had all three on the field the same amount of time. We don’t suggest looking to forward to week 9 after this bye.”

Good luck!

NFC West

Cardinals Inside Linebackers

Jordan Hicks (?)
3/5
De’Vondre Campbell
3/5
Isaiah Simmons
1/5
Tanner Vallejo
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: The marks carry a little upside with them as their averages are pretty consistent. Hicks was limited with an ankle/wrist issue via the lastest reports and of course that mark would fit nicely with Simmons if he was called on. This is also assuming that coming out of the bye they aren’t going to change anything among the three ILBs.

Rams Inside Linebackers

Micah Kiser (?)
0/5
Kenny Young
0/5
Troy Reeder
0/5
Justin Hollins
0/5

Advice/Note: Bye Week.

49ers Inside Linebackers

Fred Warner
0/5
Dre Greenlaw
0/5
Kiko Alonso
0/5
Azeez Al-Shaair
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: See Thursday Edition.

Seahawks Inside Linebackers

Bobby Wagner
3/5
K.J. Wright
2.5/5
Jordyn Brooks
1.5/5
Cody Barton
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Bills and noting that we took out Wagner’s and Wright’s upside this time around with Jamal Adams potentially returning this week. Adams was making a major impact in the first couple of weeks until his injury. Do we expect him to have that kind of impact off the top or even for the rest of the season? No, we do not. But we’ve been wrong before when it came to the effect he would have on this defense when the season started.

His first week back, we would think they would ease him in or at the least take it easy on the play calling. The kind of play calling that had him blitzing a lot and being put right in the middle of the fire. And we think that for the rest of the regular season that will be the case as well. The Seahawks are playoff-bound so what good would it do to force-feed him in play calling at this point as they had. And we’ll talk more about this in the safety charts which will be published in the next day or so.

As for Wagner and Wright, and the rest of the season and this contest this week. The upside might have been removed, and the marks are just the on paper results. But we would think they’ll be ok going forward, just to a slightly less degree.
