Welcome to the WK13 Fantasy Football Ranking NFC Edge Rusher IDP Start/Sit Chart cheat sheets presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. A formula with a well-tested history for over a decade and a proven high-hit rate in IDP play well before sharing it with the public four years ago. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.
WK13 Fantasy Football Ranking NFC Edge Rusher
Disclaimer: We do not suggest “reaching” for higher designated players over available known studs!
* The Fantasy Football Edge Rusher Chart would traditionally contain just the 3-4 outside linebackers and 4-3 defensive ends from the NFL’s two-base defensive schemes. But at times, for whatever reason, some of the main sites list some 3-4 defensive end. Not to mention some strongside linebackers from the 4-3 scheme. And one of those main sites that have been engaging IDP owners for quite a few years with the designated Edge Rusher position as an option is ESPN.COM.
So although this author doesn’t personally consider those 3-4 defensive ends a part of the true Edge Rushers, we will set these charts by whom they list as such. Because even if the position has been around for some time, on a few sites. It’s still in the process of gaining traction by IDP owners. And there still needs to be a baseline set somehow. So what better way to do it than with the old school, and one of the originals, but ESPN.
Note, this listing of ESPN Edge Rushers may not reflect this author’s Edge Rushers rankings or the Gridiron Rating player ratings. But until it is a full-fledge position used across the board and a player standard is set. We can’t ignore what the users of the charts and IDP owners may have access too. We’ll also mention that the Edge Rusher formula for these charts adds at least one additional step over the traditional five.

Robert Quinn
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
James Vaughters
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Lions. Detriot already sits in the bottom 5 in the league in allowing production off the edge. Add in what Mack did the first time these teams played each other this year and his back injury and you’ll understand his mark. And we just give an upside when the matchup result versus the situation won’t allow us to.

Austin Bryant (?)

Julian Okwara (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Trey Flowers (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Bears. Okwara has proven over the last two contests he is only human. And on paper, this isn’t the week to expect a bounce back.
Packers Edge Rushers
Za’Darius Smith (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 5/5
Preston Smith
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Rashan Gary
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Jonathan Garvin
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Eagles. And adding it has been a pleasant surprise to finally see Preston Smith reurn to last year’s form. he’s managed to give us 3 weeks in a row and we see no reason that he can’t do it again in this (actual) strong contest versus the Eagles. He would have had higher marks, but his early season let down weighed hard on paper and keeps the mark where it is. But don’t be surprised if he’ll over achieve this week.

Charles Harris
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Saints. And adding, this has proven to be a sticky situation. Fowler indeed played last week which could have affected everyone else’s playing time. But instead, he played hurt with just 16 snaps. And because of this, we weren’t able to access the situation correctly.
Fowler is still limited in practice, and the other main two players have done well, real well, with more opportunities. And this matchup off the edge for this squad on paper versus the Saints is really solid. It’s just so shakey to trust anything. We hate to say it, it just might best to avoid it all with the fantasy football playoffs on top of us.

Cowboys Edge Rushers
Aldon Smith (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
DeMarcus Lawrence
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Randy Gregory
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Ravens. And adding a couple of notes here as well. Smith has an illness and is in question. If he can’t go, Gregory would get a boost in playing time. Which we are shocked he hadn’t been since Smith apparently can not stay fresh and produce with such a high snap count each contest. But yet Gregory has produced somewhat with limited time on the field. It’s just confusing when you have three great edge rushers on the team why you wouldn’t split the time up a bit more.
Giants Edge Rushers
Jabaal Sheard
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Trent Harris
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Cam Brown
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Kyler Fackrell (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Oshane Ximines (IR/?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Lorenzo Carter (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: On paper, the matchup on paper is fairly strong. But with yet another Giants OLB (Fackrell) hitting the I.R. it’s a little risky to assume who gets what in this contest. But we will take a swing at it based on what we do know. Please just keep in mind that we have very little to go on with small samples on the remaining players. And that will be reflected in their marks.
We will add, Sheard looks like the best target. But the giants have fooled us before by handcuffing Fackrell by moving him in their scheme just when he was starting to produce, just an example.
Eagles Edge Rushers
Brandon Graham
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Derek Barnett (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Josh Sweat
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Genard Avery
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Packers as this squad faces their toughest matchup in some time off the edge. We doubt we see a sack unless the packers QB Rodgers runs himself into one. The Packers are still the best at protecting the edge and sitting dead last in allowing production to the rushers.
Washington’s Edge Rushers
Chase Young
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Montez Sweat
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Ryan Kerrigan
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Ryan Anderson (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Steelers. There is only one team allowing less production off the edge than the Steelers, and the Eagles play them this week as you can see by their notes. Young and Sweat have been great, but haven’t proven to be matchup proof in a long time.
NFC West
Cardinals Edge Rushers
Haason Reddick
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Markus Golden
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Isaiah Simmons
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Devon Kennard
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Chandler Jones (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Rams. And we’ll break this down on paper a bit to help read what we have here.
Reddick remains an every-down player. Golden has apparently kept Kennard off the field and getting around 75% of the snaps to his 25%, on average. And the rookie Simmons, who still managed to produce, only saw 30% of the snaps last week. If you go with Simmons, good luck.
Rams Edge Rushers

☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Dion Jordan
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Jordan Willis (O)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Bills.
Seahawks Edge Rushers
Carlos Dunlap (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Benson Mayowa
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
L.J. Collier
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Alton Robinson
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
SEE NEW CHART KEY ABOVE -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Giants. And for some reason, if Dunlap (foot) is out, don’t transfer the marks downward. The rest just aren’t getting it done as well as Dunlap. And also keep in mind we could have marked Dunlap higher because of the on-paper results. But with the door injury could come fewer snaps, and simply hampered by the injury.
