Welcome to the WK10 Fantasy Football NFC Safety Ranking IDP Start/Sit Charts presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. A formula with a well-tested history for over a decade and a proven high-hit rate in IDP play well before sharing it with the public four years ago. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.

Needing to split those IDP hairs between two or more players with the same color code? Besides our great Player Ratings located in the main menu, our Oddsmakers IDP tactical tools were originally intended to do just that. And they are located on our The IDP Tipster member page or perhaps even on our main article page.

Week 10 / NFC Safeties
NOTICE – Chart Key Marking Fine-Tuning Update
This was not applied to all the charts yet but will be by WK6. We are using a new STAR method this year that needed a better user-friendly feel.
Avoid Weak
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Barley Solid
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Firm Solid
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Really Solid
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Firm Strong
☆☆☆☆☆ 5/5
Questionable (?) – Out (O)
Doubtful – (D) – Injuried Reserve (IR)
NFC North
Bears Safeties
Eddie Jackson
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Tashaun Gipson (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Deon Bush
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Sherrick McManis
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Vikings. Jackson could have some upside we hadn’t added, pending how many times Dalvin Cook breaks a run out past the front seven. But when the Vikings are in the bottom 5 in allowing production to the safeties, we can’t plan on that happening.
Lions Safeties
Tracy Walker
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Duron Harmon
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Jayron Kearse
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Will Harris
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus Washington. And adding that only Walker’s “joker” (by Lion’s terms) position gets him as he is marked. On average he gets enough consistency no matter the matchup, no reason to think that won’t be the case this contest.
Packers Safeties
Adrian Amos
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Darnell Savage
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Raven Greene
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Will Redmond
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Jaguars. And we need to talk Raven Green here as he has been making an impact off and on this season when he is healthy. Reportedly he plays a nickel backer role that earns him around 50% of the snaps recently. If he can stay healthy we could see more playing time which could translate into more IDP production. And in dynasty leagues, he should be catching our attention as a deep stash with potential.
Vikings Safeties
Harrison Smith
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Anthony Harris
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Josh Metelus
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Brian Cole
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Bears. And after Harrison has finally seemed to have started hitting par or more, we are giving him the benefit of doubt this contest and giving him what’s on paper.
NFC south
Falcons Safeties
Keanu Neal
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Ricardo Allen
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Sharrod Neasman
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Damontae Kazee (I.R.)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Bye Week.
Panthers Safeties
Jeremy Chinn ILB/DB (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Tre Boston
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Sam Franklin (DB/ILB)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Juston Burris (IR/?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: First, good news, we think, for Chinn owners. He has been practicing on a limited basis. So one has to think that he is trending to play.
Second, and maybe more importantly for owners who picked up Sam Franklin. Reportedly, as we mentioned last week, Burris is returning this week. At least that was the statement from the staff. And is expected to play according to them as well. But here is the thing. The on-paper results are not that good this week versus the Buccaneers, to begin with. So if you own either or any of the safeties, and Chinn is active, there likely isn’t enough IDP meat left on the bone this week for anyone, other than Chinn.
Chinn has pretty well much matchup proof and absorbs so much of the production when he is in play. nd as an example look at what Franklin got last week while Chinn was out. And then look at what the Burris had been doing before he went out with Chinn in. Our best advice, avoid this situation this week unless you are a Chinn owner and he plays. Or if he is out and then you might still want to avoid the Burris and Franklin drama just to make sure who plays full time.
Saints Safeties
Malcolm Jenkins
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
C.J. Gardner-Johnson
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Marcus Williams
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
D.J. Swearinger
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the 49ers. Noting that any one of these guys can and will likely overachieve according to what the 49ers offer. And the only reason we can not mark each one higher is that we are dividing everything by three according to the potential snap counts.
Buccaneers Safeties
Antoine Winfield Jr.
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Jordan Whitehead
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Mike Edwards
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Andrew Adams
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Panthers.
NFC East
Cowboys Safeties
Xavier Woods
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Donovan Wilson
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Darian thompson
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Steven Parker
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Bye Week.
Giants Safeties
Logan Ryan
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Jabrill Peppers
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Julian Love
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Adrian Colbert (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Xavier McKinney (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Eagles and adding, notice we inserted McKinney again? It’s possible that he could return in week 12, after the Giants bye week. If that was to happen, it could change the landscape of the entire secondary within a few weeks. Which would be in the fantasy football playoffs.
Eagles Safeties
Rodney McLeod
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Jalen Mills
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Will Parks
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Marcus Epps
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Giants and adding, just solid. but don’t be surprised if one over achieves pending the game flow.
Washington’s Safeties
Deshazor Everett
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Kamren Curl
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Troy Apke
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Landon Collins (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Lions. And with potential upside, we did not add that the Lions will bring to the table.
NFC West
Cardinals Safeties
Budda Baker
☆☆☆☆☆ 4.5/5
Jalen Thompson
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Deionte Thompson
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Chris Banjo
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Bills. And noting that Thompson has an upside that he will need to actually avoid on paper to not overachieve the mark.
Rams Safeties
John Johnson III
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Jordan Fuller (IR/?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Taylor Rapp
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Terrell Burgess (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: It’s time to make a run for the playoffs, so Rapp and Fuller’s owners need to remember this versus the Seahawks. Fuller is reportedly returning from the I.R. And he sent Rapp to the bench before his injury sent him to the I.R. But they may ease him back because Rapp actually didn’t play as badly as he had before all of the drama. Our advice, Johnson is the only safe play and he only hit this mark on paper because of his upside.
49ers Safeties
Jimmie Ward
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Marcell Harris
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Tarvarius Moore
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Johnathan Cypren
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Jaquiski Tartt (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Ward is as marked versus the Saints. And with Tartt now on I.R., it’s unclear at the moment if Harris will get the start or Cyprien. He was just recently promoted from the practice squad. And the veteran has just as much to offer as Harris, who hasn’t been playing at a high level in coverage. Our advice is if you see a clear report from the organization on who is starting, then think about it in a really solid matchup. But otherwise, we suggest avoiding the whole situation when making the fantasy playoffs should be on the line right now. Maybe next week we’ll have a clearer picture of the situation.
Seahawks Safeties
Jamal Adams
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Quandre Diggs
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Ryan Neal (CB)
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Lano Hill (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked and noting that on paper versus the Rams, Diggs is “barely” just solid.
