Inside linebackerS

Looking for An Outside Linebacker in the NFL’s 3-4 defensive scheme? They are located in our Edge-Rusher charts, located HERE (Sorry, Not Available Yet).

Needing to split those IDP hairs between two or more players with the same color code? Besides our great Ratings located on the main menu, our Oddsmakers IDP tactical tools were originally intended to do just that for IDP owners. And are located on our main IDP page for your convince along with some other useful fantasy football content. (Notice, our main IDP page is under construction.)

Warning!

This is just an example chart for the new and revamped delivery for 2020. The five-step formula has not been applied at this time. And Fantasy Football IDP owners should not rely on the player’s designated color codes as a reliable start/sits chart at this time. This will eventually be member-only content, and likely will not be set up via the five-step formula until sometime in July or August 2020. And may henge on the NFL teams releasing some form of official depth charts for obvious reasons.

Thank you,

Gary (The IDP Tipster)

General Chart Guidelines

Clickable NFL Schedule Link

  1. The fifth element of the five-step formula applied to the charts is the mind behind its innovation. So there is a human aspect to reading the results and the delivery each week based on the formula.
  2. All input into the charts is a little raw at the beginning of each season at first. At least until the core information catches up with the current data, stats, and trends of the season. So for the first three to four weeks, on average, it is considered a warming-up period. And at this time some of the end of the year information from the prior season (2019) is included. This happens historically around week four when we have established the updated material applied in the formula. And this is when they peek in strength and is just in time for that first all so important NFL bye-week.
  3. We never suggest sitting a known stud IDP player! And as a disclaimer, we need to always keep in mind that sitting a known “stud” over a player that is not isn’t advisable. The charts are meant to split the IDP hairs among the level of players in terms of talent and rank versus their current matchups. And it is never a great idea to “reach” for a player in if those “IDP hairs” being split are minimal unless the circumstances are perfect. And that falls on the user to decide if that applies to the current situation.
  4. Users need to keep in mind these charts are based on matchups versus talent of said players overall. And trusting the charts do take a commitment by the user when applying to our line-ups.
Player Matchup Strength And Key Color Code Descriptions

Strong: On paper, the player’s matchup suggests the potential he’ll perform up to the “HIGHEST” level of his ability in recording IDP scoring statistics.

Solid: On paper, the player’s matchup suggests the potential he’ll perform within a “SAFE” level of his ability in recording IDP scoring statistics.

Weak: On paper, the player’s matchup suggests the potential he’ll “STRUGGLE” to perform within his ability in recording IDP scoring statistics.

Borderline Player Matchup: On paper, the player’s matchup was a “Borderline” call between the two potential results. Example: John Hancock was barely a solid play call, or John Hancock was barely a strong play call.

Rotational Depth Player: Player is considered a backup or has been rotating in with a low average snap count.

Already Played Thursday: Played in the contest the prior Thursday.

Already Questionable= (?) – Out= (O) – Placed On Injured Reserves= (IR) – Benched= (B): These are early indicators of possible problems when making the charts.

IDP Start/Sits Delivery

The user must take into consideration that the five-step formula applied to each chart does take a considerable amount of time. And is indeed done by hand so that the author can determine the results in the final step for publication. And on average, over the four-year history of the charts, it takes approximately 20 to 25 hours a week to get the charts right and published. While we are also introducing a separate Edge-Rushers chart for 2020.

So the timing from week to week of publishing can vary. But they will always be on time and hours ahead for their NFL contests. Our best-case scenario is to start publishing the charts sometime on Tuesday into Wednesday each week. And will include a separate chart publication for Thursday games that has all the designated players in one chart, minus the cornerback position, which will be published by Thursday noon eastern.

We will note here, after merging with Gridiron Ratings recently, the author’s resources for the charts will be available sooner than in previous NFL seasons. And when it comes to the cornerbacks, we suggest our IDP tactical tool the Oddsmaker. We have tested and found that the five-step formula does not warrant the cornerback’s match-ups on an individual player basis in the development stage. And they simply are too fluky from week to week in terms of IDP scoring consistency. Noting here that the developmental stage was a matter of multiple years and not months or weeks. And the Oddsmaker’s three-step formula appropriately works better for the cornerbacks when applied as an overall designated position tool.

Wondering what the steps are for the five-step formula applied in the Easy IDP Start/Sits Charts?

Due to the nature of the industry, we are only willing to reveal three of the five steps. As we have mentioned, the author is the final and fifth step in deciphering the results. And two of the first four steps are the NFL player snap counts and designated points allowed by team data. Also noting, in-season this season, the author is now weighing in the Gridiron Ratings. And a separate test period will be conducted for the 2020 season that includes the in-season ratings. This is to test if the possible added step can boost the already proven high hit rate of the charts going forward.

For those members that may not know, the author of the charts just merged his content and tactical tools with Gridiron Ratings site the first of 2020. Hence, the obvious reason for the testing period first. And before possibly officially integrating another valuable fantasy football database as the ratings after previous years of proven results.
