Super Bowl Quick Hits: Will pressure matter?
February 2, 2020 No Comments 49ers, Article, Chiefs, Super Bowl LIV Jeff DiMatteo

Every week of every game NFL every team talks about getting pressure on the opposing QB.  The idea, of course, is to put the QB in a bad position and force turnovers. This Super Bowl matchup though features two QB’s that are exceptional at completing passes under pressure.  Pat Mahomes has 44.7% completion percentage 5th in the league and Jimmy Garoppolo has 46.9% which is good for 2nd in the league. If either defense is going to make the other quarterback uncomfortable they’re going to get pressure from the area between the B gaps (or from Guard to Guard) middle-pressure forces Quarterbacks to scramble and I likely goes without saying that Patrick Mahomes is one of the best in the league at improvising.  The game may quietly come down which interior DL is more successful.
