Welcome to this week’s DFS breakdown, where we dive deep into the tipping points of the slate, the best stacks, mini-stacks, and individual plays to help you build a winning lineup. The beauty of this week’s slate is the wide range of options, especially at quarterback and running back, where some high-upside players are simply mispriced. We’ll break down the main stacks that could lead to explosive results, look at some game-specific mini-stacks that could be the key to unlocking hidden value, and cover position-by-position recommendations to round out your lineup. Whether you’re all-in on a high-octane game stack or looking for those under-the-radar plays that everyone else is missing, I’ve got you covered with the analysis and insight to help you crush your GPPs.
Tipping Points
I want to take a different approach and focus on the key anchors to begin. These are the players projected to be extremely popular, and I'll discuss how I plan to handle their high ownership in my lineups. This section will contain any player projecting over 30% ownership on the main slate.
RB Jordan Mason
I am quite tired of writing about Mason, but he keeps being priced at a point where people are playing others. He has a dominant role in this 49ers offense and they are facing a Patriots team that they should be dominating. Mason has averaged over 20 touches a game for well over 100 yards. The 49ers will are in for a big bounce back this weekend against the Patriots and Mason will be a big part of that every week. The Patriots do not have a Sean McVay or a Matthew Stafford to control the game, and it will show this weekend.
Main Stacks
QB Justin Fields + WR George Pickens
The Steelers offense is a key part of my builds this weekend, and I’m weighing two options: Najee Harris or a Fields/Pickens stack. Right now, I’m leaning toward Fields and Pickens due to the value and upside at their price. The Colts’ defense is severely undermanned, missing three of their best players—DeForest Buckner, Kwity Paye, and Kenny Moore. That’s a massive blow to their unit, which could open up major opportunities for the Steelers’ offense to take control.
Fields has been growing more comfortable in this system each week, and Arthur Smith has done a fantastic job making things easier for him. We’ve seen him showcase dual-threat ability, logging six or more rushing attempts in three games this season. On top of that, Fields’ accuracy is trending up, as evidenced by his recent 240-yard performance where he completed 78.1% of his passes. Against a Colts defense missing key pieces, Fields and Pickens could easily exploit the gaps and deliver big results. This looks like a prime spot for Pittsburgh's offense to get it done and put up a big point total at low price and low ownership. I know the pace of play isn’t high for this group, but there price points can be paid off with a big play and some rushing work Fields way.
QB Kyler Murray + WR Marvin Harrison Jr. + WR Greg Dortch / RB Brian Robinson Jr.
This game is set to be one of the most popular this weekend, but I’m leaning toward the Kyler Murray side over Jayden Daniels. The Commanders’ defense has struggled for 14 straight weeks to contain the WR1, and that trend isn’t likely to stop here. Murray is going to have a clear mismatch with Marvin Harrison Jr. on nearly every dropback, setting the stage for a monster performance. Without Trey McBride, Greg Dortch will have the intermediate role in this offense and it’ll be needed to open things up elsewhere.
On the other side of the ball, the Cardinals' defense will be hyper-focused on limiting Jayden Daniels, which opens up a sneaky opportunity for Brian Robinson Jr. He could thrive in a bully-ball role, similar to how we’ve seen David Montgomery dominate. With so much attention on this game, Robinson is flying under the radar, but I see him as a prime candidate to break out while the defense is preoccupied with Daniels. This game could be an offensive showcase, and Robinson might be the most overlooked piece in the puzzle.
QB Joe Burrow + WR Ja’Marr Chase + WR Tee Higgins / RB Chubba Hubbard + WR Diontae Johnson
When Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are in sync, they’re virtually unstoppable. Chase is being moved all over the formation, and with Tee Higgins returning, the Panthers can't just focus on stopping him. They'll need to spread their attention across multiple threats, making it even harder to contain the Bengals’ offense. On top of that, the Panthers need to generate a pass rush, and with their inconsistent pressure, Burrow is likely to get plenty of time to sit back, diagnose, and hit deep shots downfield. I think this game has shootout potential this week and I want to mini stack it if I don’t gamestack.
Defensively, the Bengals’ front seven looked vulnerable against the Commanders, especially in the interior. Their defensive line is depleted, which creates a massive mismatch for the Panthers' run game. Andy Dalton has brought renewed energy to this offense, and with Sam Hubbard running strong behind this line, as we saw in their impressive performance against the Raiders last week, the Panthers could take full advantage of Cincinnati’s defensive weaknesses. Expect the Panthers to lean on their ground game and exploit the Bengals’ depleted front.
Mini Stacks
Saints @ Falcons
WR Rashid Shaheed / RB Bijan Robinson
The Saints are dealing with several key injuries right now, but one bright spot remains: Rashid Shaheed. He's one of the few fully healthy pieces in their offense, and while he had chances against the Eagles last week, he couldn’t quite connect on the big plays. The Falcons have done a solid job defending explosive plays this season, but I don’t think they’re prepared to handle the game-breaking speed that Shaheed brings to the table. The Saints will undoubtedly look to scheme him into favorable matchups and exploit those mismatches downfield.
On the defensive side, the Saints will be without Demario Davis, which is a huge blow to their linebacker corps. Last weekend, we saw the Saints defense get gashed by Saquon Barkley, giving up a big rushing play. With Davis out, I expect the Falcons to bounce back with a strong performance from Bijan Robinson. He’s primed for a big day, taking advantage of the weakened Saints front, making this a great spot for the Falcons' ground game to thrive.
Tight Ends
This position has been disappointing this year, and with the current pricing, I’m focusing on finding players who fit into my lineups rather than forcing unnecessary correlations. For example, I like Pat Freiermuth, but I’m not going to force him into a stack with Justin Fields this weekend. If I’m short on salary and can only afford someone like Hayden Hurst or Elijah Higgins, I’ll go with that. There isn’t a standout tight end this weekend, so I’m treating it as the last spot to fill in my lineup.
Full Player Pool
I am changing this section up a bit and uploading the full pool below. You can search by team, player, opponent and if they aren't appearing they are not in my pool. Next week we will finally have the advanced data we need to make some more advanced plays on the slate.
