Welcome to this week’s DFS breakdown, where we dive deep into the tipping points of the slate, the best stacks, mini-stacks, and individual plays to help you build a winning lineup. The beauty of this week’s slate is the wide range of options, especially at quarterback and running back, where some high-upside players are simply mispriced. We’ll break down the main stacks that could lead to explosive results, look at some game-specific mini-stacks that could be the key to unlocking hidden value, and cover position-by-position recommendations to round out your lineup. Whether you’re all-in on a high-octane game stack or looking for those under-the-radar plays that everyone else is missing, I’ve got you covered with the analysis and insight to help you crush your GPPs. Tipping Points
I want to take a different approach and focus on the key anchors to begin. These are the players projected to be extremely popular, and I'll discuss how I plan to handle their high ownership in my lineups. This section will contain any player projecting over 30% ownership on the main slate.
RB Jordan Mason
This week, I am not confident enough to avoid this chalk. The Rams’ defensive front is in for a tough day, and I don’t see him underperforming at this price. Mason is poised to dominate, and I’m comfortable pairing him with Brandon Aiyuk. Stacking the 49ers could easily win the slate, as their production is predictable, and the Rams won’t be able to stop it. Even without Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel, the 49ers are still 7-point road favorites. My approach will be Mason with the defense or Mason with Aiyuk, but I won’t be avoiding him or the 49ers.
RB Cam Akers
We have a $4,700 starting RB, but I’m not sold on this play. The Texans' offensive line isn’t built to run against the Vikings' defensive front the way the 49ers did. Plus, I don’t trust that Akers will get the same role Mixon had. This is chalk I’m comfortable fading, especially with how I’m stacking that game below. If you don’t go for that stack, a mini-stack with Akers and Jefferson is fine, but I won’t force it on this slate.
Main Stacks
QB CJ Stroud + WR Nico Collins + WR Tank Dell / WR Justin Jefferson OR WR Jalen Nailor
The Texans are unlikely to have Joe Mixon this weekend, and I’m not considering Cam Akers. I expect them to adopt a pass-heavy approach, similar to how the Seahawks played without Kenneth Walker. With Mixon limited, their passing rate jumped to 63%, and I expect it to rise to 65% against the Vikings. While Brian Flores has done a fantastic job with the Vikings’ defense, talent often beats scheme. Minnesota’s cornerbacks won’t be able to handle the Texans' skilled WRs, especially with how special CJ Stroud has been in the pocket. The Vikings love to bring exotic pressures, but Stroud thrives under pressure. Last year, he averaged 9.0 yards per attempt against the blitz with a 7.9% touchdown rate. This season, he’s at 8.8 yards per attempt with an 88.2% completion rate.
Justin Jefferson will dominate the Texans' defensive backs, no explanation needed there. Jalen Nailor is also a sleeper with big-play potential, as I mentioned in my Weekly A.S.S. Report over at Fantasy Points. Stroud’s greatness will shine through, and the Texans’ aggressive cornerbacks will give up big plays, making this game a potential scoring fest.
QB Kyler Murray + TE Trey McBride / RB Jahmyr Gibbs + WR Jameson Williams
The Detroit Lions struggle to contain running quarterbacks, often allowing them to escape the pocket for big gains. I expect Kyler Murray to have a high rushing floor this weekend, and there’s no need to force a double stack with Marvin Harrison Jr. and McBride. This week could be huge for McBride, as linebackers will focus more on stopping Murray’s rushing lanes than dropping back deep enough to cover tight ends on crossing routes—an area where McBride excels. While Marvin Harrison Jr. is a solid option, I won’t prioritize a double stack, especially with how weak the tight end position is overall. McBride is the play to target here.
The runback for this game will be all about speed. The Cardinals’ defense has looked solid against teams lacking the chemistry the Lions have, but there's a key vulnerability. Arizona often shows two-high safety looks, but their safeties don’t play with enough depth. This is where Jameson Williams will thrive, blowing past them like we’ve seen from top receivers over the last two seasons. Think of Jalin Hyatt’s 90-yard game, Ja’Marr Chase’s huge performance, and Tank Dell’s 8-for-149 outing against this team, all driven by big plays down the field. Williams is now a focal point, and with the Lions' strong offensive line giving Jared Goff time, deep shots will be there. Once that happens, the Cardinals’ defense will struggle to contain gaps, opening up the ground game for Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs, who saw almost double the snaps of David Montgomery last week, is primed for a breakout now that his hamstring is fully healed. We saw James Cook rack up 22 touches for 103 yards in Week 1, and while Montgomery can steal touchdowns, Gibbs has the explosiveness to have a big game.
QB Derek Carr + WR Chris Olave + WR Rashid Shaheed / WR DeVonta Smith or RB Saquon Barkley
The Saints offense has been strong this season, and this could be the first time they face an opponent capable of keeping it close. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are excelling in separation, ranking among the NFL’s best. While Alvin Kamara is in a good matchup, his price feels a bit high for me. The Eagles defense looks more exploitable downfield, so if you go with Kamara, consider mini-stacking him with DeVonta Smith for more upside.
Running it back is straightforward. The Eagles offense should flow through Smith or Barkley. Either is a solid choice, as the Saints defense hasn’t been tested much yet. They've mostly played from ahead and thrived in man coverage against weaker offenses like Carolina and Dallas, where the run game wasn’t a factor.
QB Dak Prescott + WR CeeDee Lamb + WR Jalen Tolbert / RB Derrick Henry
The Ravens defense has been underwhelming this season, often leaving themselves exposed to mismatches. The Cowboys move CeeDee Lamb around a lot, and if the Ravens give him favorable matchups, Dallas will exploit them. To capitalize on the Cowboys' passing volume, a double stack with Dak Prescott makes sense. While Brandin Cooks is the No. 2 WR, Jalen Tolbert has emerged as the third option and, at his price, is a value play worth considering.
As for the Ravens, they’ll need to lean on Derrick Henry to counter Dallas' tough run defense, especially to protect their struggling right side of the offensive line. If Henry gets going, this game could shoot out. If not, the Cowboys defense could dominate, particularly against that weak side of the OL.
Mini Stacks
Miami @ Seattle
RB De’Von Achane / WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Achane is on pace for 119 receptions and 1,232 receiving yards this season, with 29 touches against the Bills last week. At a $7,000 price tag, he's poised to deliver huge value with that kind of workload. If you have the salary, he's worth the investment, but don't force it if you can't fit him in.
Smith-Njigba is the top points-per-dollar play on the slate. With Kenneth Walker out, the Seahawks will air it out, and we finally saw his talent shine. DK Metcalf will be tied up with Jalen Ramsey, leaving Smith-Njigba to exploit the Dolphins over the middle.
Favorite Plays
This section will help you fill that lineup out and contain plays that I did not mention above. This will be separated by position and I will fill out different price options so you can build a good lineup.

The Colts run defense is bad and I love Swift to have a good day on the ground. He's my get different GPP RB.
