Welcome to this week’s DFS breakdown, where we dive deep into the tipping points of the slate, the best stacks, mini-stacks, and individual plays to help you build a winning lineup. The beauty of this week’s slate is the wide range of options, especially at quarterback and running back, where some high-upside players are simply mispriced. We’ll break down the main stacks that could lead to explosive results, look at some game-specific mini-stacks that could be the key to unlocking hidden value, and cover position-by-position recommendations to round out your lineup. Whether you’re all-in on a high-octane game stack or looking for those under-the-radar plays that everyone else is missing, I’ve got you covered with the analysis and insight to help you crush your GPPs.
Tipping Points
RB Tyjae Spears
Without Pollard and going up against the Jaguars, you’re likely looking at a Spears chalk game. I fully expect Spears to be part of a mini stack with Brian Thomas Jr. Both players are coming in at over 25% ownership, and as long as you can differentiate elsewhere, I don’t mind playing them.
RB Bucky Irving
I’m high on Irving this week. I plan to play him extensively this weekend and stack him with Bryce Young, as his ownership is no longer climbing.
RB Saquon Barkley
It’s hard to argue against Barkley’s potential on this slate. With Kenny Pickett at QB, he’s expected to have high ownership. While his price point is a bit challenging to reach, I believe the field will feel comfortable pivoting to Dontayvion Wicks at just $3,900.
WR Mike Evans
No Jaycee Horn for the Panthers has us with a higher owned Evans and rightfully so. This is an easy spot to showcase a big game against a depleted Panthers defense that was already not playing well.
RB Jonathan Taylor
Another spot where the running QB is ruled out and it means Taylor gets the goal line touches to him self. This is also against a bad Giants run defense that has no good interior defensive lineman.
Main Stacks
I will put these in order of preference for the weekend. I have a few QBs in the pool that I like quite a bit.
QB Bryce Young + WR Adam Theilen + TE Ja’Tavion Sanders + RB Bucky Irving + WR Mike Evans or WR Jalen McMillan
Young had one of his best games of the year against the Buccaneers a few weeks ago and I expect him to have another good performance. The Panthers cannot run the ball here… We weren’t going to be able to anyways and now there’s an underowned QB that’s been a willing runner lately that has the pathway to be throwing a lot more than normal. Theilen is the easy play here with his connection with Bryce and I like the sneaky play of Sanders because Tampa Bay has struggled to defend slot TEs and that’s where Sanders has made his money. I do still like Legette and Jalen Coker.. But I am leaning this style for the opportunity to get the other big name people.
Run backs here are simple. The double run back of Evans and Irving is my favorite to fully get the production here from the Buccaneers. This is a big time spot for them to put up a big time performance and Irving is a great play this weekend.
QB Jordan Love + WR Jayden Reed + TE Tucker Kraft or WR Dontayvion Wicks + 2 of WR Justin Jefferson WR Jordan Addison RB Aaron Jones TE TJ Hockenson
This is the most popular game of the slate for good reason. Jayden Reed is my favorite player in this game and will be the player I target when I do not stack. Wicks is in play because of Watson being out and it’s easy to imagine they repeat the success they had the first time around.
Now the Vikings are tougher because I can see this going a ton of ways because of how well that Packers defense has played. Now Hockenson is the chess piece I am curious to see because the Packers avoided him the first time around. Jefferson and Addison are incredible and I lean Jefferson at home in the big matchup even at the price. Aaron Jones is probably the player I like the least but he makes a lot of sense here.
Mini Stacks
Jets @ Bills
RB Breece Hall WR Keon Coleman
This is the only way I am bothering with this game.. But not a high priority for me.
Titans @ Jaguars
RB Tyjae Spears WR Brian Thomas
Chalkyfor good reason… I think Chig Okonkwo is a great pivot off of Spears here or Calvin Ridley that’s gone down in ownership.
Top Plays
These are top plays that I have not mentioned yet.
RB Jonathan Taylor
Great play vs. New York.
RB Saquon Barkley
Explained.
WR Josh Downs
Downs had almost a 30% target share with Flacco at QB. This is a great play on this slate and I wouldn’t be afraid to play him with Taylor.
WR AJ Brown
Great pivot away from Saquon. He had a massive target share with Pickett at QB.
TE Brock Bowers
Pricey, but with the value opening up at WR he can outscore all TEs by a significant margin.
TE Jake Ferguson
So many targets without Lamb. But I don’t love him and he’s high owned.
Full Player Pool
I am changing this section up a bit and uploading the full pool below. You can search by team, player, opponent and if they aren't appearing they are not in my pool. Next week we will finally have the advanced data we need to make some more advanced plays on the slate.
