Welcome to this week’s DFS breakdown, where we dive deep into the tipping points of the slate, the best stacks, mini-stacks, and individual plays to help you build a winning lineup. The beauty of this week’s slate is the wide range of options, especially at quarterback and running back, where some high-upside players are simply mispriced. We’ll break down the main stacks that could lead to explosive results, look at some game-specific mini-stacks that could be the key to unlocking hidden value, and cover position-by-position recommendations to round out your lineup. Whether you’re all-in on a high-octane game stack or looking for those under-the-radar plays that everyone else is missing, I’ve got you covered with the analysis and insight to help you crush your GPPs.

Tipping Points

RB Kareem Hunt KC

Pacheco was supposed to be back this weekend but he will not be and now Hunt has become chalk at the $5,700 price tag. Hunt has been the workhorse back since joining this team but this is chalk that has a path to failure. The Panthers are an awful run defense, but Mahomes can throw for 4 touchdowns against the Panthers and it would not shock me. Hunt is a good play because of the price but you’ll see one of my main stacks.

Main Stacks

I will put these in order of preference for the weekend. I have a few QBs in the pool that I like quite a bit.

QB Patrick Mahomes + WR Xavier Worthy + TE Travis Kelce

Mahomes is coming in outside of the top 5 QBs in ownership because he’s been an awful fantasy QB this year. However, we all know what he’s capable of, and this is the pathway for the failure of the Hunt chalk.

The reason it’s Worthy > DeAndre Hopkins is due to the snap shares. Worthy has played the most snaps of any active WR this year, and last week, Hopkins played fewer snaps than Justin Watson. This is one of my favorite stacks because of the way ownership is shaping up, offering a way to flip the script from the field. Mahomes connecting on the deep ball to Worthy is key to unlocking their passing game, which simply has not been there this year.

QB Kyler Murray + WR Marvin Harrison Jr. + WR DK Metcalf

Both of these defenses have completely changed their identities, and if that trend holds true in this game, we’re likely to see a shootout. The Seahawks have committed to living and dying by man coverage and blitzing, while the Cardinals have shifted towards more Cover 3 concepts, moving away from the two-deep shells Gannon preferred last season.

Against man coverage, Kyler Murray becomes a willing runner, and Marvin Harrison Jr. is their man-coverage beater and most productive player. He’s averaging 2.41 yards per route run against man coverage this year with a 35% target share.

On the other side, DK Metcalf is lethal against Cover 3. He’s averaging an impressive 3.95 yards per route run against that look with Geno Smith and is Seattle’s primary weapon in this matchup. I love him in this spot, and if running back fits better in your lineup, Kenneth Walker III is also a strong option—or even a combination of the two. This is my favorite game to shoot out this weekend.

QB Tua Tagovailoa + WR Jaylen Waddle + TE Jonnu Smith + WR Demario Douglas

The "Where’s Waldo… I mean Waddle" narrative is puzzling because he’s been a good player, yet the Dolphins don’t prioritize feeding him over Achane and the run game. This week, they face a team that plays man coverage at very high rates for the first time since the Jaguars game, and I believe this will be the week where explosive plays finally open up for him.

If I’m New England, my game plan would be to bracket Tyreek Hill and focus on neutralizing Achane. That approach would leave Waddle in one-on-one situations, and when he gets those, he has the potential for a big game. I don’t think you need to get to Tyreek Hill in this game, but I’d understand doubling with Hill here. I decided to play Jonnu Smith who has found a good role in this offense and is a cheap TE that would take away from the rushing TDs.

On the other side, Demario Douglas cooked the Dolphins the last time they played, but Jacoby Brissett’s poor performance limited his impact. Now with Drake Maye, who is a much better quarterback, Douglas has had a 20% target share in two of the last three weeks. Given how well he performed in their last matchup, I’d expect another big game from him this week.

Mini Stacks

49ers @ Packers

RB Christian McCaffrey WR Jayden Reed

Without Purdy, the 49ers are likely to lean heavily on McCaffrey and their rushing attack. The Packers have already faced a Shanahan-style scheme once this year, and in that game, C.J. Stroud was limited to just 86 passing yards while Joe Mixon ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns. With a backup QB under center, the 49ers will rely on all their rushing options, and they should find plenty of success against this vulnerable run defense.

As for the Packers, Jayden Reed has been quiet in recent weeks, but this is a prime opportunity for him to shine. For the first time in a while, Jordan Love should be fully healthy, and the 49ers’ defense primarily operates in zone coverage. Reed isn’t a top-3 option against man coverage, as the play-calling typically doesn’t go his way in those scenarios. However, against zone coverage, Reed thrives—his ability to gain yards after the catch is his specialty, and this matchup presents plenty of opportunities for him to exploit those strengths.

Top Plays

These are top plays that I have not mentioned yet.

RB Brian Robinson Jr.

The Cowboys run defense is pathetic. Robinson looked good in his return from injury and should be well rested for a big game.

RB James Conner

Huge divisional game for the Cardinals here and if I am not stacking Kyler, I will mini stack with Conner/Metcalf.

WR Nico Collins

The Ravens are the worst secondary in football. Pickens is one of the best WRs in football. This is a boom week for Pickens.

WR Alec Pierce

The Lions play a ton of man coverage and Pierce has been good at winning down the field against it. I can’t always trust Anthony Richardson or the Colts rotation at WR but I do believe the deep ball opportunity will be there.

TE Brock Bowers

Bowers is the best rookie TE ever and the price is the only reason I am hesitant to play him. He’s still a fantastic player and should be in consideration.

TE Sam LaPorta

The forgotten great TE. LaPorta has had a bad season but this Colts defense is bad at covering TEs and I’d expect nobody to play LaPorta this weekend.

Full Player Pool

I am changing this section up a bit and uploading the full pool below. You can search by team, player, opponent and if they aren't appearing they are not in my pool. Next week we will finally have the advanced data we need to make some more advanced plays on the slate.
