Bengal Daxton Hill
Bengal Safety Daxton Hill: 15th IDP Off the Board / Selected 31st Overall
” Outstanding ball-skills to deflect/intercept passes-Aggressive tackler”
Bengals Safety Daxton Hill is an exciting rookie prospect. He’s a versatile Safety capable of playing all over the secondary. He excels in coverage and run support. He profiles best as an in-the-box Safety. He’s an aggressive tackler who does a good job of fighting through blocks. He played a majority of his snaps in-the-box as a Nickel Safety in college. Hill did an outstanding job of disrupting plays around the line of scrimmage. Hill uses his outstanding speed to quickly close in on ball carriers and stop them dead in their tracks.
His landing spot in Cincinnati may not provide him with the opportunity for huge fantasy success as a rookie. The Bengals have two solid veterans with Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell as starters. The Bengals also have a solid Nickel Cornerback on the roster in Mike Hilton. Hill projects to see playing time in sub-packages and on special teams in year 1. However, Hill could have a major role on defense if Jessie Bates holds out for a new contract. I love Hill’s upside in Dynasty. His skillset and style of play are very similar to Cardinals Safety Budda Baker.
Gauging Dynasty Vs. Redraft
Hill is a top 5 safety in IDP Dynasty rookie drafts. There’s potential for him to be a top 10 DB in Dynasty.
Hill likely won’t be worth drafting in redraft leagues. He has barriers on the depth chart that will limit his role.
