11 Personnel: JD McKissic

Welcome to 11 Personnel, a series highlighting my favorite 2022 offseason trade targets! There’s something for everybody here. Many of these players are names you know but are undervalued. Whether you’re looking to add one more guy, trying to fix some depth woes or trying to rebuild with some low-risk, lottery tickets. This series will give you the jumpstart you need.

Today we’re discussing… RB JD McKissic, Washington Commanders

In need of solid, reliable running back depth? Start at a mid-late 3rd offering for McKissic and see what happens.  McKissic is coming off an RB3 finish in 2021 (weeks 1-17, RB36 in PPR), despite missing 6 games. He was a mid-level RB2 in 2020. The Commanders fought to keep JD McKissic. Buffalo nearly snapped up the vaunted pass catcher. Washington realized that his unique skill set was going to be missed and wasn’t going to just let him walk away. McKissic’s role as the primary 3rd down and receiving back will remain unchanged and unchallenged.  A relatively-low mileage 28 years old, provided health, McKissic will provide a quality flex option most weeks. With some low-end RB2 upside for another year or two.

Possible Trade Value

Players to offer for McKissic include; DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault, Marquez Valdes-Scantling & Logan Thomas. You might be able to have some draft capital thrown in, in addition to McKissic for any one of them. Think more-or-less in the early 2022 4th range. I recently acquired McKissic for what ultimately amounted to Albert Okwuegbunam. I sent Albert O and 2022 2.02 for McKissic and 2.07. The player I wanted at 2.02 was available for me at 2.07 anyway (Rachaad White). You can’t always bank on that to happen, so that was an overpay. However, I built a bridge to a new trade partner in the process. You hope a player you draft in the mid-3rd performs like that. You can find me on Twitter @thedevydirtbag and also on YouTube @thedevydirtbag _ Thanks for reading, catch you in the next one!
