The WK1 Fantasy Football Rankings Defensive Lineman IDP Start/Sits cheat sheet charts contain all the interior defensive lineman in both NFL defensive schemes.

If you are looking for names like Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa, or Danielle Hunter…

Those are defensive ends in the NFL’s 4-3 defensive scheme and are now located with the 3-4 schemed Outside Linebackers in the new Edge Rusher charts. So if you do not see your players name, and unsure as to why. They likely can be found there, where we apply an even deeper formula to get these weekly start/sits right for IDP sack-heavy formats.

AFC NORTH

 Ravens Interior D-Lineman

Calais Campbell
2.5/5
Derek Wolfe
2.4/5
Brandon Williams
1.5/5
Justin Madubuike (O)
0/5

Advice/Note: As marked, via the formula, the Browns OLs are tougher than some think. Those marked solid are going to have to earn it this week one.

Bengals Interior D-Lineman

Geno Atkins (O)
0/5
D.J. Reader
2.5/5
Mike Daniels
2/5
Christian Covington
1.5/5

Advice/Note: With Atkins out, we are looking at a tough situation on who is the relevant players on the interior. The matchup on paper is pretty high-solid, and according to what the reports are our best target would be Reader if we are needing to go here. It’s week one folks, hang on tight.

 Browns Interior D-Lineman

Sheldon Richardson
2.5/5
Larry Ogunjobi
2/5
Jordan Elliott
1.5/5
Vincent Taylor
1/5

Advice/Note: Week one versus the Ravens OLs is not a great outlook. Rankins did manage to split the series last season nicely, but our best expectations week one should be just solid with very little apparent upside.

Steelers Interior D-Lineman

Cameron Heyward
3.5/5
Stephon Tuitt
3/5
Tyson Alualu
1.5/5
Chris Wormley
1/5

Advice/Note: We’ll roll with what’s there with the formula results versus the giants. One thing to consider is Tuitt is coming off a season-ending injury but should still be solid enough.

AFC south

Texans Interior D-Lineman

J.J. Watt
0/5
Brandon Dunn
0/5
P.J. Hall
0/5
Charles Omenihu
0/5

Advice/Note: Texans played/plays Thursday night. They are located on the Thursday Edition Charts. And BONUS note, it comes to our attention that at least one major fantasy football site does have J.J. Watt listed as an Edge Rusher. Even if they don’t have other 3-4 DE’s in other schemes listed as such. We’ll make the exception and add him there too.

Colts Interior D-Lineman

DeForest Buckner
3.5/5
Denico Autry
3/5
Grover Stewart
2/5
Sheldon Day (IR)
0/5

Advice/Note: Buckner is Buckner and he’ll get him with upside in this matchup versus the Jags. As far as Autry, reportedly he will play some or all off the edge, so for now we have him in both the Edge and IDL chart. But we see no reason to force a play with him in week one.

 Jaquars Interior D-Lineman

Taven Bryan
2/5
Abry Jones
1.5/5
Timmy Jernigan
1/5
Rodney Gunter O
0/5

Advice/Note: On paper, via the formula, this isn’t as bad of a matchup as one would think versus the solid Colt’s O-line. No reason to go here on paper with a lackluster group going against a good O-line week one.

Titans Interior D-Lineamn

Jeffery Simmons
3/5
DaQuan Jones
2/5
Jack Crawford
1/5
Isaiah Mack
0.5/5

Advice/Note: On paper, if the name isn’t Simmons there isn’t any need to force the play versus the Broncos. Adding in one metric, Simmons has an upside to outperform his solid designation.

AFC East

 Bills Interior D-Lineman

Ed Oliver
2.5/5
Star Lotulelei (O)
0/5
Vernon Butler (Q)
2.5/5
Quinton Jefferson
2.5/5

Advice/Note: On paper, via the formula, we could take our pick if we just knew who besides Oliver will be in there for a large portion of the snaps. Week one isn’t the time to go head hunting for a play if you can avoid it.

Dolphins Interior D-Lineman

Davon Godchaux
2.5/5
Christian Wilkins
2/5
Raekwon Davis
1/5
Robert Nkemdiche
0.5/5

Advice/Note: Might be surprising to know that Godchaux averaged 4.5 combined tackles last season versus the Patriots, who rank higher than one might think to allow points to the interior DLs. On paper, both of the top Dolphins here have some upside week one.

 Patriots Interior D-Lineman

Lawrence Guy
3/5
Adam Butler
3/5
Deatrich Wise Jr.
3/5
Beau Allen (IR)
1/5

Advice/Note: On paper this matchup is actually above just solid versus the Dolphins. But we should have some trust issues on who gets the full complement of playing time week one with Old Bill running the show. It’s a risk versus reward this early, but via the formula it is there for the taking.

Jets Interior D-Lineman

Quinnen Williams
2/5
Henry Anderson
2/5
Steve McLendon
2/5
Folorunso Fatukasi
0.5/5

Advice/Note: If it was not for the avoid this factor because we have no solid proof anyone can get it done. This matchup would be solid for the interior lineman versus the Bills. But considering even Williams didn’t record a tackle the two times they faced each other last season just hampers every bit of any upside going here week one.

AFC west

 Broncos Interior D-Lineman

Jurrell Casey
3.5/5
Shelby Harris
3.5/5
Dre'Mont Jones
2/5
Mike Purcell
2/5

Advice/Note: Versus the Titans week on via the formula doesn’t get much better than this matchup for the Broncos interior lineman. If we stick with the main two guys we should be well rewarded.

Chiefs Interior D-Lineman

Chris Jones
0/5
Derrick Nnadi
0/5
Khalen Saunders (Q)
0/5
Mike Pennel (O)
0/5

Advice/Note: Played Thursday and/or the matchup is located on the Thursday Edition of chart.

Chargers Interior D-Lineman

Linval Joseph
3.5/5
Justin Jones
2.5/5
Jerry Tillery
2/5
Damion Square
0.5/5

Advice/Note: Pretty much as marked here via the formula. The Bengals were top five allowing points to the D-lineman, so there is upside here if needing to go here.

Raiders Interior D-Lineman

Johnathan Hankins
2.5/5
Maurice Hurst
2/5
Maliek Collins
2/5
Daniel Ross
0.5/5

Advice/Note: On paper, this is matchup versus the Panthers is lackluster but not terrible via the formula. That is literally the best we got to say week one and considering the history of the Raiders interior lineman.

WK1 Fantasy Football Rankings

NFC North

Bears Interior D-Lineman

Akiem Hicks
2/5
Bilal Nichols
2/5
Roy Robertson-Harris
1.5/5
Eddie Goldman (O)
0/5

Advice/Note: There just isn’t a lot of meat on the IDP bone for this squad on paper via the formula versus the Lions.

Lions Interior D-Lineman

Da'Shawn Hand (Q)
2.5/5
Danny Shelton
2.5/5
Nick Williams
2.5/5
Damon Harrison Sr.
1/5

Advice/Note:  All things are coming up solid versus the Bears for this group. Someone might actually overperform in the process.

Packers Interior D-Lineman

Kenny Clark
4.5/5
Dean Lowry
2.5/5
Tyler Lancaster
2/5
Montravius Adams (D)
0.5/5

Advice/Note: Kenny Clark is one of the most exceptional defensive lineman in the league. And via the formula he will remind everyone of this versus the Vikings week one.

Vikings Interior D-Lineman

Armon Watts
2/5
Michael Pierce (O)
0/5
Jaleel Johnson
2/5
James Lynch
2/5

Advice/Note: It’s simply a no on paper, it’s just not an appealing group of names either.

NFC south

Falcons Interior D-Lineman

Grady Jarrett
3/5
Allen Bailey
2/5
Tyeler Davison
1/5
Marlon Davidson (Q)
0.5/5

Advice/Note: There is one secure thing right now on the Falcons D-line, that is Jarrett. And his potential to outperform his designation via the formula is always there.

Panthers Interior D-Lineman

Kawann Short
2/5
Derrick Brown
2/5
Zach Kerr
1/5
Bravvion Roy
0.5/5

Advice/Note: Shockingly enough, on paper, this doesn’t work out well for the interior D-lineman of the Panthers versus the Raiders. It’ll be a good test for the rookie Brown to see if he can overachieve as a player.

Saints Interior D-Lineman

Sheldon Rankins
3.5/5
Malcom Brown
3/5
David Onyemata
2.5/5
Shy Tuttle
1.5/5

Advice/Note: Just like the Saints Edge Rushers, this matchup on paper is just as appealing as it could get versus the Bucs.

Buccaneers Interior D-Lineman

Ndamukong Suh
2/5
Vita Vea
1.5/5
William Gholston
1/5
Rakeem Nunez-Roches
0.5/5

Advice/Note: There is a good reason we always fine the Bucs interior D-Lineman on the waiver wire, and this is no exception versus the Saints via the formula in week one.

NFC East

Cowboys Interior D-Lineman

Gerald McCoy (O)
0/5
Tyrone Crawford
1.5/5
Antwaun Woods
1/5
Dontari Poe
0.5/5

Advice/Notes: Sure, someone on the interior will produce, but week one versus the Rams doesn’t play out well enough on paper to reach here. There simply no upside in the five-step formula.

Giants Interior D-Lineman

Leonard Williams
3/5
Dalvin Tomlinson
2.5/5
Dexter Lawrence
2/5
B.J. Hill
2/5

Advice/Note: Via the on paper formula result, someone here is going to have a pretty darn good game versus the Steelers.

Eagles Interior D-Lineman

Fletcher Cox
3/5
Javon Hargrave (O)
0/5
Malik Jackson
2.5/5
Hassan Ridgeway
2.5/5

Advice/Note: It’s a good solid matchup for the Eagles D-Lineman versus the Washington Football Team OLs. Play them if you got them with confidence.

Washington’s Interior D-Lineman

Jonathan Allen
3.5/5
Matt Ioannidis
3/5
Daron Payne
2.5/5
Tim Settle
0.5/5

Advice/Note: The only reason these interior D-Lineman are designated slightly higher is the question of the rotation versus the Eagles in week one.

NFC West

Cardinals Interior D-Lineman

Jordan Phillips
2.5/5
Corey Peters
2.4/5
Zach Allen
2.5/5
Angelo Blackson
0.5/5

Advice/Note: If we only knew what the snap counts for each player would be this would be an upper solid matchup across the board versus the 49ers on paper. But as it is we’ll pump the breaks a little and expect a general solid performance. The player to watch week one, Zach Allen for future reference.

Rams Interior D-Lineman

Aaron Donald
2.5/5
Michael Brockers
1.5/5
Sebastian Joseph-Day
1/5
A'Shawn Robinson (O)
0/5

Advice/Note: One, Donald was not listed as an Edge Rusher as well as on the Interior, at least for now as there were reports that he was practicing as such. And we might see him listed as in some sites. We’ll go as marked, Donald will have to earn it week one versus a good Cowboys O-Line.

49ers Interior D-Lineman

Javon Kinlaw
2/5
Solomon Thomas
1.5/5
D.J. Jones
1/5
Kentavius Street
0.5/5

Advice/Note: It’ll be really tough for any Interior D-Lineman to overachieve in week one versus the Cardinals on paper. Although with the 49ers pass-rush on the outside opens up things for the inside sometimes. It’s just not worth it so early in the season if you don’t have to go here.

Seahawks Interior D-Lineman

Jarran Reed
3.5/5
Poona Ford
2.5/5
Bryan Mone
2.5/5
Brandon Jackson (IR)
0/5

Advice/Note: On paper this is a prime matchup versus the Falcons, it should be a nice way for Reed to regain his momentum as a great play. As for the others, we might want to wait and see what they offer in talent before going there.
