Welcome to the Fantasy Football Ranking WK2 AFC Edge Rusher IDP Start/Sit Chart cheat sheets presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.

* The Fantasy Football WK1 Rankings Edge Rusher Chart would traditionally contain just the 3-4 outside linebackers and 4-3 defensive ends from the NFL’s two-base defensive schemes. But at times, for whatever reason, some of the main sites list some 3-4 defensive end. Not to mention some strongside linebackers from the 4-3 scheme. And one of those main sites that have been engaging IDP owners for quite a few years with the designated Edge Rusher position as an option is ESPN.COM.

So although this author doesn’t personally consider those 3-4 defensive ends a part of the true Edge Rushers, we will set these charts by whom they list as such. Because even if the position has been around for some time, on a few sites. It’s still in the process of gaining traction by IDP owners. And there still needs to be a baseline set somehow. So what better way to do it than with the old school, and one of the originals, but ESPN.

Note, this listing of ESPN Edge Rushers may not reflect this author’s Edge Rushers rankings or the Gridiron Rating player ratings. But until it is a full-fledge position used across the board and a player standard is set. We can’t ignore what the users of the charts and IDP owners may have access too. We’ll also mention that the Edge Rusher formula for these charts adds at least one additional step over the traditional five.

Week 2 / AFC Edge Rushers

All the charts are only available for free for the first three weeks of the season. We hope you consider joining the G.R. family.

The User of any chart must read the notes or they are setting themselves up to make a mistake and do their own due diligence on injuries and such.

Attention, Please! As mentioned in the examples real in-depth Advice/Notes are an option when they are needed. And considering that the Edge Rushers opposition in the NFL, for the most part, is stable, users will start noticing that those notes and such will start diminishing as we go.

AFC NORTH

 Ravens Edge Rushers

Matthew Judon
2.5/5
Tyus Bowser
2/5
Jaylon Ferguson
2/5
Pernell McPhee
2/5

Advice/Note: One thing to note, get Bowser on our radar. Instead of it being the veteran McPhee or Ferguson getting the second most edge snaps, it was Da’ Bowser. And he did well with that 53% of the snaps versus main rushers Judon’s 59%. We’ll see if that keeps trending as a mainstay. As for this weeks matchup versus the Texans, go with what’s marked and that’s based on what we do know for sure.

Bengals Edge Rushers

Carlos Dunlap
0/5
Sam Hubbard
0/5
Carl Lawson
0/5
Khalid Kareem
0/5

Advice/Note: Played Thursday and/or the matchup is located on the Thursday Edition of chart.

 Browns Edge Rushers

Myles Garrett
0/5
Olivier Vernon
0/5
Adrian Clayborn
0/5
Porter Gustin
0/5

Advice/Note: Played Thursday and/or the matchup is located on the Thursday Edition of chart.

Steelers Edge Rushers

T.J. Watt
3/5
Bud Dupree
2.5/5
Alex Highsmith
1/5
Olasunkanmi Adeniyi
0.5/5

Advice/Note: As marked, ad they’ll have to earn it via the five-step formula. But these two are an exception which adds their upsides each week as a tandem.

AFC south

Texans Edge Rushers

J.J. Watt
2.5/5
Whitney Mercilus
2/5
Brennan Scarlett
1/5
Carlos Watkins
0.5/5

Advice/Note: As marked, no upside on paper. And Mercilus better be at the top of his game to get solid production.

And BONUS note, it comes to our attention that at least one major fantasy football site does have J.J. Watt listed as an Edge Rusher despite being a 3-4 DE.

Colts Edge Rushers

Justin Houston (?)
2/5
Denico Autry
2/5
Al-Quadin Muhammad
0.5/5
Kemoko Turay (O)
0/5

Advice/Note: It’s going to be a real tough time for these guys to get into the backfield versus the Vikings, real tough.

 Jaquars Edge Rushers

Josh Allen
2.5/5
K'Lavon Chaisson
1.5/5
Adam Gotsis
1/5
Dawuane Smoot
0.5/5

Advice/Note: So much for this group to make a great impression week one in a mathup that was favorable. Keep that in mind as they look solid on paper this week versus the Titans in theory. Because if someone doesn’t show (Allen mainly), it’ll start counting against them via the formula soon.

Titans Edge Rushers

Harold Landry III
2.5/5
Jadeveon Clowney
2/5
Vic Beasley, Jr. (Q)
1/5
Kamalei Correa
0.5/5

Advice/Note: As marked with Landry showing his signs of upside on paper.

AFC East

 Bills Edge Rushers

Mario Addison
3.5/5
Jerry Hughes
3/5
Trent Murphy
2.5/5
Darryl Johnson
1/5

Advice/Note: As marked with any given one of them having upside.

Dolphins Edge Rushers

Kyle Van Noy
3/5
Shaq Lawson
2/5
Emmanuel Ogbah
1/5
Andrew Van Ginkel
0.5/5

Advice/Note: As marked and noting that Lawson was far from impressive in week one as his deputy as a Dolphin was lackluster at best. and on the other hand, Van Noy has that look of a solid “upside” play at this point considering his role within the Dolphins defense.

 Patriots Edge Rushers

Chase Winovich
3.5/5
John Simon
3/5
Shilique Calhoun
2/5
Anfernee Jennings
1/5

Advice/Note: On paper, looking good in week two via the matchup on paper.

Jets Edge Rushers

Jordan Jenkins
2/5
Tarell Basham (?)
1.5/5
Kyle Phillips
1/5
Jordan Willis
0.5/5

Advice/Note: Basham showed promise in week one considering he only got 55% of the snaps. And of course he is questionable. So until further notice as we have said for the past three years, no four……”Avoid the Jets Edge Rushers all the time unless desperate and no matter the matchup and/or the formula results..”

AFC west

 Broncos Edge Rushers

Bradley Chubb
3.5/5
Jeremiah Attaochu
3.5/5
Malik Reed
2.5/5
Von Miller (IR)
0/5

Advice/Note: Let’s just go with Chubb will redeem himself this contest after not being able to knock the rust off in week one. Deploy as marked.

Chiefs Edge Rushers

Frank Clark
4/5
Mike Danna
2/5
Tanoh Kpassagnon
1/5
Alex Okafor
0/5

Advice/Note: Beyond Clark, there are trust issues at this point.

Chargers Edge Rushers

Joey Bosa
2.5/5
Melvin Ingram III
2.5/5
Uchenna Nwosu
1/5
Isaac Rochell
0.5/5

Advice/Note: It’s a catch 22 in the results here versus the Chiefs. And we really have to reflect on the players upside as individuals to get the solid mark. And to double check the formula results let’s reflect on 2019. In one of the two contest Ingram had a good game versus the Chiefs, the other was weak. And as for Bosa versus the Chiefs twice in 2019, well lets jus go with “OK”. He didn’t record a sack either contest and didn’t exactly stack the score box. And to dig dig a bit deeper on Bosa, the one contest in 2018 he was good and healthy, not so “OK”. It’s going to take some real dedication from his owners to “never sit a stud” this contest.

Raiders Edge Rushers

Maxx Crosby
2/5
Clelin Ferrell
2/5
Carl Nassib
2/5
Arden Key
0.5/5

Advice/Note: So how disappointed were Crosby owners last week? Well, not saying it can’t happen, but versus the Saints in week two it actually is going to get harder for Crosby and the crew. Crosby flashed last year but hasn’t earned the “don’t sit a stud” tag yet. And week one versus the Panthers only hampered that idea at this point. So if owners have a better looking player with a better looking matchup on paper, they just might want to go there over here this contest.
