Ravens Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: We’ll recap snap counts, Queen 75%, Fort 32%, and Harrison 29%. So just like last season, the Ravens opened the season using the ILBs sparingly overall. Queen and Fort did produce, and as a matter of fact, Fort at 32% overachieved by a large margin in production. So for this reason and now knowing our baseline (somewhat), we’ll go with what came out on paper and say play it safe. Eventually, 29% of Harrisons and 32% of Forts should get combined into one player. And one has to think that’ll be Harrison in time.
But if the Ravens continue the % trend, that’s just over 60%, we need more for consistency at the ILB. We’ll wait and see but it just might be 2021 before we see what we want pending the Raven’s defensive philosophy. Because as of right now, they are the only team in the NFL that for some time now has a strong safety wearing the green dot (captain) and running the defense on the field.
Bengals Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Played Thursday and/or the matchup is located on the Thursday Edition of chart.
Browns Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Played Thursday and/or the matchup is located on the Thursday Edition of the chart.
HEY! Just n FYI with the game just playing out Thursday night. Versus the Bengals on Thursday night the Browns knocked off the retread dust on Malcolm Smith throwing a wrench in the situation on top of Phillips and Mack being out. And he did produce.
WK1 and WK2 snap counts on those standing. Do with it what you will, but Takitaki owners better be nervous, to say the least with Wilson and Phillips also hanging out. Just an FYI folks, who knows what next week will bring.
GoodsonWK1 83% / WK2 100% ( UP ) – Takitaki WK1 92% / WK2 44.6% ( DOWN ) – Smith WK1 0% / WK2 61% ( UP )
Steelers Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: So we got the 5 stars out of Bush last week and after last season’s incinsistany for a few games that worked out. We also got “false prophet” production from Willliams, who clearly obverachieed with just 60% of the snaps available. We shouldn’t expect that in week two versus the Broncos who were in the bottom few allowing points to the ILBs. And it is early we know, but don’t forget that for at least the first few weeks we include data/info from the prior season in the five-step formula for the charts. With that being said, we only suggwat Bush as the apparent safe stud play. Praying that whatever went on last year with his playing time never shows up this season.
Texans Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Just a snap count check here. Cunningham 100%, and McKinney 80%, for those wondering. Deploy as marked versus the Ravens via the on-paper results.
Colts Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Same as last week on paper results, noting that Walker held off Okereke, for playing time again this year, so far.
Jaquars Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Back inFebruary I predicted that Jack would bounce back, and even before Schobert signed mentioned he could return to the WLB position in 2020 in this IDP Dime Drop here on GR for our members first. And guess what, he did! And on paper, Schobert and him will have productive contest this week too versus the Titans.
Titans Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Evans must have drunk the same kool-aid as the Lions LB Jamie Collins before the week one contest. Because he also got ejected for a boneheaded move. His ejection came by throwing a punch at an opposing player. And although on paper this contest in week two isn’t as shiny as we like, it’ll be tough not to play him as marked.
Bills Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Ouch! So the main two guys both ruled out already. And ALL remaining names were mentioned as possible replacements versus the Dolphins this week by coach McDermott. Can we say avoid this loud enough? Well, if you must go here we guess Klein is your target. But know this, and even if that changes this week, the Dolphins were dead last in allowing production to the ILBs in week one.
Dolphins Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: In this divisional game with Roberts out, Grugier-Hill will likely be next man up next to Baker. But on paper, it certainly isn’t worth a reach here versus Buffalo beyond Baker.
Patriots Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Bently was the only ILB that came near any releavany in snaps at 80% and anything elsein week one. So for now, he is the only one even really getting designated versus the Seahawks this week. And that’s not so solid either considering how strong safety Adrian Phillips emerge last week. Real risky to go here.
Jets Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: The Jets are again a complete mess at ILB this season. And even if reports are optimistic that Williamson will play versus the 49ers, we don’t suggest finding out who of the last three remaining ILBs get the chunk of playing time. Not to mention the Jets dug deep and recently signed veteran Alex Ogletree to thier COVID practice squad. The match up on paper is solid, but the situation is not. Hopefully we get some clarity after this contest because there should certainly be some IDP meat on the bone here when it clears up.
Broncos Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: It indeed was Jewell who benefited with Todd Davis being released. And he got 98% of the snap counts with Johnson at 100%. It seems the on paper solid with a touch of upside for the main two ILBs is in order versus the Titans this week.
Chiefs Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: Why 2 and 1 stars? Well, even if a couple of them produced, week one, we aren’t able to spin it all that well when Andy Reid does what he does with his ILBs. Hence, here are the reported snap counts and we can’t even bet on these being the same in week two.
Hitchens – 44% / Niemann – 61% / Wilson – 34%
Gay – 0% / O’Daniel – 8% < So few snaps but made 4 tackles and had one sack, talk about a fluke or ?
It’s too bad too, cause on paper the Chargers will offer a bonanza of production to the ILBs. We just can’t say with confidence what owners should do.
Chargers Inside Linebackers
Advice/Note: After making the first tackle of the game last contest, Vigil was who replaced Tranquill’s snaps. We may see Tranquill later on, and we are going to throw out a warning as well. Vigil lacks in some aspects, it’s why after so many years the Bengals let this young man walk away. And the words have come out at one point via the coaching staff that it might be a timeshare going forward. Take it what it’s worth this week, we suggest only trusting Murry in this actual low solid matchup on paper.
Raiders Inside Linebackers
Advice/note: As of the time of this being published, Kwiatkoski is still questionable and nothing else is coming out. When he went down Morrow got his time on the field last contest. But rumors are flying we could see recently traded for McMillian, who is likely slightly more talented than Morrow. And to add to these there are also assumptions of a time share between the two. We should believe them if he is Kwiatkoski is out, and keep in mind if he an’t out he could be hampered a little by his pec injury. But this matchup versus the Saints is strong on paper, so if he is a go it’ll be tough not to trust he is capable to produce.
