Welcome to Fantasy Football’s AFC Edge Rusher Championship WK16 Start/Sit Chart cheat sheets presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. A formula with a well-tested history for over a decade and a proven high-hit rate in IDP play well before sharing it with the public four years ago. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.
Fantasy Football’s AFC Edge Rusher Start/Sit Chart
Disclaimer: We do not suggest “reaching” for higher designated players over available known studs!
* The Fantasy Football WK1 Rankings Edge Rusher Chart would traditionally contain just the 3-4 outside linebackers and 4-3 defensive ends from the NFL’s two-base defensive schemes. But at times, for whatever reason, some of the main sites list some 3-4 defensive end. Not to mention some strongside linebackers from the 4-3 scheme. And one of those main sites that have been engaging IDP owners for quite a few years with the designated Edge Rusher position as an option is ESPN.COM.
So although this author doesn’t personally consider those 3-4 defensive ends a part of the true Edge Rushers, we will set these charts by whom they list as such. Because even if the position has been around for some time, on a few sites. It’s still in the process of gaining traction by IDP owners. And there still needs to be a baseline set somehow. So what better way to do it than with the old school, and one of the originals, but ESPN.
Note, this listing of ESPN Edge Rushers may not reflect this author’s Edge Rushers rankings or the Gridiron Rating player ratings. But until it is a full-fledge position used across the board and a player standard is set. We can’t ignore what the users of the charts and IDP owners may have access to. We’ll also mention that the Edge Rusher formula for these charts adds at least one additional step over the traditional five.

Ravens Edge Rushers
Matthew Judon
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Yannick Ngakoue
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Tyus Bowser
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Pernell McPhee
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Jaylon Ferguson
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Giants. And we are going to mention that Ngakoue’s return to Jacksonville came with a couple of things that helped his cause in returning home. One, he saw about a 25% bump in snaps. And two, it looks like it came at the cost of Matt Judon. So one has to assume, this was meant to happen as he got revenge on his former team.
So here’s the thing this week versus the Giants. If things go back to normal, Ngakoue won’t see as much time on the outer edge as he did versus the Jaguars. And this will likely send him right back to those mediocre to none existent numbers again. And with this being the Championship week in 99% of leagues, we aren’t chasing points in our formula from last week. So the marks show that while also removing the normal and recent upside to Judon, just in case. Although, we have way more faith in Judon getting his snaps back over Ngakoue keeping his.
Bengals Edge Rushers
Sam Hubbard
☆☆☆☆☆ 3.5/5
Carl Lawson
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Khalid Kareem
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Texans. And a warning, be real careful as we repeat ourselves again. The chasing points thing doesn’t normally go well. And Lawson really needed to prove himself worthy way before overachieving last week.
Browns Edge Rushers
Myles Garrett
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Olivier Vernon
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Adrian Clayborn
☆☆☆☆☆ 1.5/5
Porter Gustin
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Jets.
Steelers Edge Rushers
T.J. Watt
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Alex Highsmith
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Olasunkanmi Adeniyi
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Bud Dupree (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Colts. And yes it is weird to mark Watt like this. but as recent games have shown Jacksonville and Buffalo, he is only human. And on paper, this matchup is way tougher.
Let’s put it this way, this writer can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have added more upside to and make their owner happy. But that’s not how the process works and we are not into corrupting the five step-formula to do so. It’s been true more than it isn’t, and we would rather see him overachieve than flop on our advice.

Texans Edge Rushers
J.J. Watt
☆☆☆☆☆ 4.5/5
Whitney Mercilus
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Brennan Scarlett
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Jacob Martin
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Bengals. And there is no reason to not expect a nice bounce-back for Watt. His matchup on paper is the polar opposite of the Colt’s contest last week.

☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
K’Lavon Chaisson
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Kamalei Correa
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Josh Allen (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Bears. And once again, don’t chase points from the previous week when the matchup isn’t right. The Ravens in week 15 is a far cry off the edge this week versus Chicago. Who is known for allowing the production on the interior, not off the edge.
Titans Edge Rushers
Harold Landry III
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Jadeveon Clowney (IR)

Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Packers.

Dolphins Edge Rushers
Emmanuel Ogbah
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Kyle Van Noy (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Shaq Lawson
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Andrew Van Ginkel
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Raiders, who on paper, are the toughest matchup this group seen for a few weeks. Oakland is bottom five in allowing production off the edge. And the only advantage that Van Noy has is his role as a OLB and not a DL. And we definitely don’t advise transferring his marks to Van Ginkel if he would be out. He doesn’t have the same prowess that the veteran Van Noy has at this point.
Patriots Edge Rushers

Broncos Edge Rushers
Bradley Chubb (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Malik Reed
☆☆☆☆☆ 4/5
Jeremiah Attaochu
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Anthony Chickillo
☆☆☆☆☆ 1/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Chargers. And if Chubb can’t go after missing some time and playing on an injured ankle last contest, Attaochu will be in play, but with one less mark than Chubb. he overachieved last week working in as Chubb got hurt. But most of his box score in leagues came from a sack and forced fumble. Those just aren’t numbers that can be counted on. But know that the matchup is right that whoever plays.
Chiefs Edge Rushers
Frank Clark (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Alex Okafor
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Tanoh Kpassagnon
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Mike Danna
☆☆☆☆☆ 3/5
Taco Charlton (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Falcons. And in what actually is a strong matchup off the edge, good luck picking who overachieves the marks. Clark was just made questionable with an illness, which normally means he’ll be out this close to Sunday. And the rest are all hit or miss at times depending on the timeshare they have in snaps. If Clark does play, he just flopped in a matchup that was as good as this one on paper versus the Saints. And he isn’t the player of old either as his second half of the season hasn’t had but a couple of highlights.
Our point, anything we see here versus the Falcons will be produced by default according to what the Falcons allow off the edge. And not what this unit has to offer at this time. You just need to pick and when the IDP lottery to take advantage of it. Personally, but don’t quote us, we think Dana is a good bet, but only if Clarks out.
Chargers Edge Rushers
Joey Bosa (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Uchenna Nwosu (?)
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Isaac Rochell
☆☆☆☆☆ 2/5
Melvin Ingram (IR)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Advice/Note: As marked versus the Broncos. Having problems figuring out how Bosa is so low in the process of the formula. Go check out what he did the last time these two teams meet as the broncos aren’t that friendly to the edge rushers.
Raiders Edge Rushers
Maxx Crosby
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Carl Nassib
☆☆☆☆☆ 2.5/5
Clelin Ferrell (O)
☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5
Arden Key
☆☆☆☆☆ 0.5/5
See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Chargers. And for Crosby, it is a top seven matchup on paper. Why just Crosby? Simple, he is the only guy to trust.
Advice/Note (If Any): As marked versus the Dolphins.
