Welcome to the Fantasy Football WK11 Ranking AFC Edge Rusher IDP Start/Sit Chart cheat sheets presented by GridironRatings.com Where the only original and proven IDP start/sit chart “cheat sheets” via The IDP Tipster can be found. And yes, there are a few imitators, but there is only one true original five-step formula IDP tactical tool. A formula with a well-tested history for over a decade and a proven high-hit rate in IDP play well before sharing it with the public four years ago. And all of that history and relevancy is only available here for G.R. fantasy football family members.

Individual Defensive Players

Fantasy Football WK11 Ranking The AFC Edge

Disclaimer: We do not suggest “reaching” for higher designated players over available known studs!

* The Fantasy Football WK1 Rankings Edge Rusher Chart would traditionally contain just the 3-4 outside linebackers and 4-3 defensive ends from the NFL’s two-base defensive schemes. But at times, for whatever reason, some of the main sites list some 3-4 defensive end. Not to mention some strongside linebackers from the 4-3 scheme. And one of those main sites that have been engaging IDP owners for quite a few years with the designated Edge Rusher position as an option is ESPN.COM.

So although this author doesn’t personally consider those 3-4 defensive ends a part of the true Edge Rushers, we will set these charts by whom they list as such. Because even if the position has been around for some time, on a few sites. It’s still in the process of gaining traction by IDP owners. And there still needs to be a baseline set somehow. So what better way to do it than with the old school, and one of the originals, but ESPN.

Note, this listing of ESPN Edge Rushers may not reflect this author’s Edge Rushers rankings or the Gridiron Rating player ratings. But until it is a full-fledge position used across the board and a player standard is set. We can’t ignore what the users of the charts and IDP owners may have access too. We’ll also mention that the Edge Rusher formula for these charts adds at least one additional step over the traditional five.

AFC NORTH

 Ravens Edge Rushers

Matthew Judon
3/5
Yannick Ngakoue
2.5/5
Tyus Bowser
2/5
Pernell McPhee
2/5
Jaylon Ferguson
2/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: First, assuming that Ngakoue is still kicked inside with Campbell doubtful, that’s the best we got for him on paper. Second, Judon has kicked it up a notch the last couple of contests, but we’ll need to see it this game, and three contests in a row before we add any upside. he does have upside on paper that this matchup could bring, but “could” isn’t getting figured in just yet.

We’ll likely also see one of the other three overachieve on the marks. But they’ve been running a timeshare that makes it tough to pick one.

Bengals Edge Rushers

Sam Hubbard
3.5/5
Carl Lawson
2.5/5
Khalid Kareem
2/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: The scenario’s we noted last week played out as we expected. And Hubbard did well his first contest back with around 60% of the snaps. We’re now going to assume that goes up into the 70% (at least) in his second game back versus Washington. Hubbard is a proven player, just know we went “lite” on his mark, with no upside added, because we need to see those snaps go up. And we won’t be shocked when he beats the par mark we gave him.

As for Lawson, he is now second fiddle in this band. And if he isn’t careful, Kareen will push him back to third as he was before Carlos Dunlap was traded to the Seahawks. Lawson is a good talent but he has only flashed at times and not taken advantage of anything. And now with Hubbard back, as we assumed, he isn’t working off the blindside and that’s making it even tougher for him to get into the backfield.

 Browns Edge Rushers

Myles Garrett (O/C)
0/5
Olivier Vernon
3.5/5
Adrian Clayborn
3/5
Porter Gustin
2.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Eagles with Garrett out (COVID). And adding, this matchup on paper is likely the strongest for any edge rusher squad this week. But trust issues have us pumping the brakes a little, even if they would basically need to just flop around to not hit par. So, don’t be shocked if they overachieve, and don’t be upset if they don’t. It’s just one of those cases that the matchup is carrying all the weight here, it’s that strong.

Steelers Edge Rushers

T.J. Watt
3/5
Bud Dupree
2.5/5
Alex Highsmith
2/5
Olasunkanmi Adeniyi
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Jaguars. This might be this squad’s toughest matchup on paper all year. And note, the player’s upside got them where they are marked. And of course, there can be some overachieving here. We just aren’t counting on it to the point we boost them anymore on paper than we have.

AFC south

Texans Edge Rushers

J.J. Watt
3.5/5
Whitney Mercilus
2/5
Brennan Scarlett
1.5/5
Jacob Martin
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Patriots. Which just a few weeks ago were allowing a lot more production off the edge over what they are now. But Watt holds an edge of his own based on his “interior” edge rusher position as the Patriots still allow top 10 to the interior DLs. And of course, when it looks this good on paper, his upside was reinserted.

Colts Edge Rushers

Justin Houston
2/5
Tyquan Lewis
2/5
Al-Quadin Muhammad
2/5
Ben Banogu
2/5
Kemoko Turay (?)
2/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: With DT/DE Denico Autry (COVID) reportedly out, it actually hurt this group in their process of getting it done. So we are strictly sticking to the on-paper results versus the Packers. Sure, someone may overachieve, but we aren’t willing to try and pick that player out here. And as of right now, none carry their own upside.

As an IDP writer, I’m frustrated. The Colts need to forgo old veterans Houston and Muhammed so much and get Lewis on the field more and keep him that way. He did finally almost hit 50% of the snaps in week 11, which explains his box score last week. But we need him up in the 60% area, and we have no clue why they just won’t do it. The veterans have been really hit or miss this season. And Lewis is a talented force when he gets the opportunities in the right matchups. As I said, as an IDP writer, I’m just frustrated, there is some IDP meat on the bone there and we can’t use it.

 Jaquars Edge Rushers

Josh Allen
2/5
K’Lavon Chaisson
1.5/5
Dawuane Smoot
1/5
Kamalei Correa
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Steelers, no movement this week.

Titans Edge Rushers

Harold Landry III
4/5
Jadeveon Clowney (O)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Landry is as marked versus the Ravens. And there isn’t any other player under consideration worth adding to the list, for now.

AFC East

 Bills Edge Rushers

Mario Addison
0/5
Jerry Hughes
0/5
Trent Murphy
0/5
A.J. Epenesa
0/5
Darryl Johnson
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: Bye Week.

Dolphins Edge Rushers

Kyle Van Noy (?)
3/5
Emmanuel Ogbah
3.5/5
Shaq Lawson
2.5/5
Andrew Van Ginkel
2.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: It’s all a matter of who is healthy between Van Noy and Van Ginkel. Our safe target is likely Ogbah, who has the upside to overachieve on paper any contest.

 Patriots Edge Rushers

John Simon (?)
3/5
Chase Winovich
2.5/5
Shilique Calhoun
1.5/5
Anfernee Jennings
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: The Texans are not allowing the production they had been off the edge earlier in the season. So keep that in mind and the fact that we are likely looking at the player’s ceiling, as marked.

Jets Edge Rushers

Tarell Basham
2/5
Bryce Huff
2/5
Jordan Jenkins
2/5
John Franklin-Myers
1.5/5
Kyle Phillips (IR)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: There is a real reason that these players are likely on waiver wires in 99% of leagues. And even if this matchup versus the Chargers is pretty darn solid, there’s a reason the formula we use can’t be applied to them. At least in the way we could if they were worth it and trustworthy.

AFC west

 Broncos Edge Rushers

Bradley Chubb
2.5/5
Malik Reed
2/5
Jeremiah Attaochu
1.5/5
Anthony Chickillo
1/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus Miami. And again, it’s not the same Dolphin team from the first of the season. And that is why we can’t even add Chubb’s upside in this one. Unpredictable at this point what Miami allows is our best description as they flip the script on everything.

Chiefs Edge Rushers

Frank Clark
2/5
Tanoh Kpassagnon
2/5
Mike Danna
2/5
Taco Charlton (O)
0/5
Alex Okafor (IR)
0/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Raiders. And for example of these marks via the formula, between the main three, there were two tackles made the first time they played this year. We checked after the results were figured out. And we can’t see any reason to test that right now with the fantasy football playoffs around the corner.

Chargers Edge Rushers

Joey Bosa
4/5
Melvin Ingram
3/5
Uchenna Nwosu
1/5
Isaac Rochell
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Jets. And either has headway to overachieve.

Raiders Edge Rushers

Maxx Crosby
2.5/5
Clelin Ferrell (O)
0/5
Carl Nassib
2/5
Arden Key
0.5/5

See New Chart Key Above -Advice/Note: As marked versus the Chiefs, and likely their ceilings.
