This is 12 team dynasty startup with rookies included, we did this the week following the NFL Draft to try to see where the rookies are fitting in and what we can learn.  I am going to breakdown the rookies only and try to get an idea of how they rank in each position as well as where they fit in with the rest of the class as well as with the veterans.

Quarterbacks

Saying that this class of quarterbacks in underwhelming might be an understatement.  The hype was real when we only saw 1 drafted in the first 2 of the NFL Draft and then we saw 3 other quarterbacks get drafted in the 3rd round.  This is reflective in the startup as you can see where they were drafted.

Rookie Quarterbacks

QB18 – Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick 14.04)

QB22 – Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons (Pick 17.01)

QB23 – Malik Willis, Tennesee Titans (17.02)

Running backs

This isn’t the most exciting class, but it offers plenty of depth.  Most people only really see 2 or 3 running backs as worth a 1st round rookie pick and that is how the rookie drafts have been landing.  Then there is a large group of backs that are close together that will fall in rounds 2 and 3.  Here is how the RBs fell in our draft.

Rookie Running Backs

RB7 – Breece Hall, New York Jets (Pick 2.01)
RB21 – Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks (Pick 4.10)
RB29 – James Cook, Buffalo Bills (Pick 8.01)
RB35 – Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans (Pick 10.07)
RB36 – Isaiah Spiller, Los Angeles Chargers (Pick 10.09)
RB39 – Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Pick 11.02)
RB42 – Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons (Pick 11.07)
RB44 – Brian Robinson Jr., Washington Commanders (Pick 11.12)
RB46 – Zamir White, Las Vegas Raiders (Pick 12.06)
RB49 – Tyrion Davis-Price, San Francisco 49ers (Pick 13.05)
RB52 – Pierre Strong, New England Patriots (Pick 13.12)
RB57 – Keontay Ingram , Arizona Cardinals (Pick 14.10)
RB62 – Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams (Pick 15.05)
RB63 – Hassan Haskins, Tennessee Titans (Pick 15.07)
RB65 – Snoop Conner, Jacksonville Jaguars (Pick 16.04)
RB66 – Kennedy Brooks, Phladelphia Eagles (Pick 16.07)
RB67 – Tyler Badie, Baltimore Ravens (Pick 16.10)

Wide Receivers

– This is a very deep group that saw 6 of them get drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft.  There was 11 more drafted Day 2 and seven of those wide receivers were drafted in Round 2.  This gives us a pretty deep class with more than half of them going in the 1st round of rookie drafts.  Let’s see how they fell in our mock.

Rookie Wide Recievers

WR15 – Garrett Wilson, New York Jets (Pick 4.01)

WR17 – Drake London, Atlanta Falcons (Pick 4.04)
WR20 – Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans (Pick 4.12)
WR23 – Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions (Pick 5.07)
WR32 – Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders (Pick 6.12)
WR33 – Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints (Pick 7.03)
WR38 – Skyy Moore, Kansas City Chiefs (Pick 7.12)
WR39 – Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers (Pick 8.03)
WR41 – George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick 8.08)
WR51 – David Bell, Cleveland Browns (Pick 10.03)
WR56 – John Metchie III, Houston Texans (Pick 12.01)
WR58 – Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys (Pick 12.04)
WR59 – Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants (Pick 12.10)
WR60 – Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts (Pick 12.12)
WR65 – Khalil Shakir, Bufalo Bills (Pick 14.06)
WR70 – Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers (Pick 15.09)
WR79 – Calvin Austin III, Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick17.05)
WR83 – Tyquan Thornton, New England Patriots (Pick 17.12)

Tight Ends

We only had 4 of them drafted in the first 3 rounds and over 100 picks.  There was 1 second round tight end and 3 were drafted in the third round.  None of them appear to be in line to be fantasy stars year 1, but there is some hope and you will see 5 or so get drafted in your rookie drafts this season.

Rookie Tight Ends

TE13 – Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos (Pick 9.01)
TE16 – Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals (Pick 11.05)

TE19 – Jelanie Woods, Indianapolis Colts (Pick 13.01

TE24 – Charlie Colar, Baltimore Ravens (Pick 16.01)

I hope this was helpful, good luck this season!
