Performance Rating
Benchmarks a player's per-game stats against position-specific thresholds using 2025 data.
Category: General ยท Status: Active
What it measures
Performance Rating evaluates raw fantasy production by comparing actual per-game statistics to position-specific thresholds. Each position uses tuned stat weights (e.g. QB: pass yards 30%, pass TDs 25%, rush yards 15%, PPG 20%, TD:INT 10%). Carries 65% weight in the Overall Rating.
Inputs
- Per-game stats (2025): Passing, rushing, and receiving yards and touchdowns per game from the current season.
- Position-specific thresholds: QB: 275 pass YPG/2.5 TDs/35 rush YPG/24 PPG, RB: 80 rush YPG/0.8 TDs/4.5 rec/40 rec YPG/20 PPG, WR: 5 rec/70 rec YPG/0.35 TDs/16 PPG, TE: 4.5 rec/45 rec YPG/0.35 TDs/13 PPG.
- Position-tuned stat weights: Each stat category is weighted differently per position to reflect what drives fantasy value at that role.
Scale
- 90 โ 99: Projected to produce at historically elite levels for the position.
- 70 โ 89: Solid but not exceptional production relative to positional leaders.
- 50 โ 69: Average production - replacement-level territory at premium positions.
- Below 50: Below-average projection; likely a backup or limited contributor.
How to use it
- Use Performance Rating to identify the highest-ceiling players at each position.
- A player with a 92 Performance Rating but 55 Availability Rating is a high-ceiling, high-risk play.
- Compare Performance Ratings within a position group to find tier breaks in projected output.
Limitations
- Isolates pure production from risk factors - does not penalize injury-prone or inconsistent players.
- Elite thresholds are based on recent history and may not reflect rule changes or league trends.
- Scoring format differences (standard vs. PPR) can shift relative Performance Ratings.
