Dynasty Score
A composite dynasty valuation that combines current production with age-adjusted longevity curves and positional scarcity.
Category: General ยท Status: Active
What it measures
Dynasty Score projects long-term fantasy asset value by blending current season production ratings with age-based depreciation curves specific to each position.
Inputs
- Gridiron Overall Rating: Current-season composite rating as the production baseline.
- Player age: Current age, mapped to position-specific aging curves.
- Positional aging curves: QBs age gracefully; RBs depreciate fastest. WRs and TEs fall between.
- AIS penalty (RBs only): Running backs receive a workload-adjusted penalty based on career Accumulated Impact Score.
Scale
- 90 โ 99: Cornerstone dynasty asset - elite production and long-term runway.
- 70 โ 89: Strong dynasty hold - valuable asset with meaningful remaining value.
- 50 โ 69: Mid-tier asset - consider selling if better offers emerge.
- Below 50: Aging or declining - sell candidate unless rebuild value exists.
How to use it
- When evaluating dynasty trades, compare Dynasty Scores rather than current-season rankings.
- Identify sell-high candidates: players with high Overall Rating but declining Dynasty Score.
- Young players at premium positions with rising Dynasty Scores are cornerstone buy targets.
Limitations
- Aging curves are averages - individual players may age faster or slower than the model predicts.
- Does not account for contract situations, team quality, or coaching changes.
- Rookie projections carry significant uncertainty that compounds in multi-year Dynasty Scores.
